Golden Leads Group Guidelines

Attendance

  1. Meetings are held at Noto's Old World Italian restaurant every Wednesday morning. Networking begins at 7:20 a.m. The official meeting begins at 7:30a.m.
  2. Once per quarter the group will hold an after-hours networking event from 5:00 to 7:00PM, at the location of our choosing. The event (Network after Work) will be held on the second Wednesday of the month from 5 to 7pm.
  3. If you are unable to attend, please send a substitute or call/email an officer at least a day or more before the meeting.
  4. If a member has two (2) unexcused absences in one (1) billing quarter, he or she will be contacted regarding continued membership, or have a sub fill in until you are able to return.
  5. Unreasonable and/or excessive absenteeism is grounds for termination of membership. Attendance at meetings is vital to the group’s success. Therefore, please make every effort to attend. It is unfair to presenters to present to a fractional group.
  6. We begin each meeting with a round of 30-second commercials. Include who you are, what you do, and a specific type of referral that you are looking for.
  7. We attempt to schedule 15 minute presentations one month in advance, with new members receiving priority. If you are unable to attend a meeting at which you are scheduled to make a presentation, please arrange for a substitute presenter, preferably the next person on the presentation list.
  8. We end each meeting with a round of referrals and/or testimonials.
  9. Non-payers, meeting missers, and tardies will be announced every 21 days.
  10. Bring guests at every opportunity.
  11. If the Forest Hills Public Schools announce a cancellation or delay for the morning of our meeting due to weather, our meeting will be cancelled without further notice.

Roster

  1. Please make sure that you have up-to-date business cards in the green box.
  2. Please make sure that your name, address, telephone number, and email addresses are current on our Agenda and on the Golden List. If it is not correct, please notify an officer.
  3. Please make sure that the officers have your email address for meeting notices.
  4. New members will be added to the roster upon payment of their dues.

Networking

  1. Please take advantage of the opportunity to network over coffee and pastries before the official start of the Wednesday morning meeting, during our 10 minute break and after the close of the meeting.
  2. Please create opportunities to network by meeting members of the group outside of the official Wednesday morning meeting.

Dues

  1. Dues are $78, payable on the first meeting day of each quarter.
  2. Please make your checks payable to Golden Leads Grand Rapids.
  3. Please give your dues payments to the treasurer. The treasurer will invoice group members at the end of each quarter for the following quarter.
  4. If dues are not paid within 14 days of the due date, a $10 late fee applies.
  5. If a member does not pay his or her dues within 21 days of the due date, they will be contacted as to their continued membership. Every reasonable effort will be made to work with members who have demonstrated their commitment to the group but who are experiencing extreme difficulty in paying their dues. However, failure to pay dues in full and on time, without an explanation acceptable to the group, remains grounds for termination of membership.
  6. Quarterly dues must be paid in full regardless of the number of meetings a member attends in a given quarter.
  7. Quarterly dues will be pro-rated only for those who become members after the start of a billing quarter.
  8. A prospective member's first and second visits are free of charge. Any additional free visits must be approved by the group president. A new member's dues are due on his or her first meeting as a new member.
  9. Payment of dues is necessary but not sufficient for membership. Unreasonable and/or excessive absenteeism is grounds for termination of membership. Dues will not be refunded.
